The purpose of a giant corkboard

I remember when I first posted about my corkboard someone wrote, "Nice, but I don't really get the purpose."

Yeah, I still remember that. Thanks, Annon.

Anyway here's one super awesome reason for having a giant corkboard in your entry way. Christmas card holder! :) Love it.

I put ours in the frame and threw some colorful garland up there. I like that the entry way is full of color even though the rest of our house is very neutral. It's the first place people walk into when they come over and I like it to be fun.

Picutres are pretty wonky because I took them when the sun was setting and those silly glares came right through the back door, oh well.. Such is life.

Oh, and for fun, because the mudroom looks so clean and nice, here's what real life is right now. Bags from the trunk of my car, socks on the floor, bag of cans, bag of trash because well of course I ran out of garbage bags yesterday. Whatever, judge if you must. ;) Oh, I also see a measuring spoon! It's like Ispy.

Merry-almost-Christmas Friends!

Seriously?! They don't get the "purpose" of a giant corkboard? I'm not really sure what to say about that. I love it with the Christmas cards, and I can see it being used year round for lists, photos, favorite quotes or Bible verses, etc. :)

Wow, think of the response if they saw my 6' by 4' magnet board right in the middle of my kitchen. I love having a place to hang my kids art work & the importnat notes from school, wedding announcements & remeinders. What would be the point of not having something like this?? Too funny. I love the color and the real life blip too. Thanks for being real:)

I spy...hmm...I spy...NOT Kimmie's Christmas card! Where's my card, lady? And was it hard removing the giant poster you had of my face to put up the Christmas cards? That poster has been up since March...remember that?! HA! Happy day to you, Rachel Cook. ;)

Honestly, Rachelle. . . not see the purpose of a giant corkboard? Were they serious or just mean?? I have a medium-large one in my kitchen and I just wish it were larger--it's always covered.

Hope you have a wonderful, wonderful Christmas!

Well, I love it for Christmas cards. Great idea. And my cork board stays full, so obviously it does have a purpose. And I wouldn't judge at all. Keep it real.Merry Christmas.

What a great idea! I'll have to steal it. Thank you for posting a picture of the mess! It always makes me feel normal when I know other mom houses are messy too! :)

Merry Christmas!

Love the giant corkboard. I must admit, when I first saw yours I was in love. Luckily my Home Goods had fabulous (slightly smaller....but only slightly) ones on hand so I got one with a red frame about 7 months ago. I even made a little push pin frame because yours is so fabulous. Between this and my 8 ft by 4 ft magnetic chalkboard- we can do/display/create/love everything BIG! :) Thanks for the inspiration!
